Whatever feelings you're carrying right now, they are welcome here! This is a space where you can finally set them down and breathe.

Hello and welcome to Ameigh Therapy. I'm Charlotte Ameigh (She/Her), I'm a Yorkshire based BACP therapist specialising in integrative counselling, relationship therapy & clinical supervision.

I'll start by letting you into a secret. One of the best things about what I do, is when a client tells me that they feel like they don't need to see me anymore. There is a quiet power in choosing yourself. Making room for kindness and therapy isn't just 'self-care', it's how we build a life that feels worth living.

I think one of the many reasons I was drawn to talking therapies is because I want people to see that as human beings, we aren't flawed or broken. It's just that sometimes we get stuck and overwhelmed or we just can't see our way out of a situation. I've seen first-hand how therapy creates space for healing and growth. It's a powerful resource for those moments when life feels heavy. Whether it's relationship issues, work stress or negative self talk, anxiety, low mood, or a quiet, general feeling of unease. Whatever is holding you back, talking is the first step toward finding your way through.

Ethos and approach

I believe that you are a 'fluid process", not a fixed entity but a unique individual with an incredible capacity for growth. My role as your therapist or supervisor is to provide the safe, positive space you need to navigate that journey. Grounded in the person-centered approach of Carl Rogers, my practice is built on being genuine, non-judgmental, and deeply empathetic. By also drawing on Milton Erickson's insights into hypnosis and family therapy, I help you tap into your own unique resources for change. Whether we are in a therapy session or a supervision meeting, my goal is to walk alongside you as you discover your own potential.

How I can support you

While this page gives you an insight to who I am, what I do and why, what's more important is showing you how I can support you. There's more detail about the other talking therapies I practice on my What's it all about page while my Fees & Services page will show you just that - my fees.

Are you looking for someone to listen right now, or are you searching for specific resources or advice on a certain challenge? You can also email me ameightherapy@gmail.com or call me on 07835 925788 with your questions. You can also hear from clients I've worked with on my Testimonials page.

My experience and qualifications

My journey began at Lancaster University, where I first fell in love with Psychology. That passion evolved over 20 years in the classroom, supporting young people through both their academic and emotional development. It was during this time, while volunteering for a telephone counselling service, that I truly witnessed the transformative power of being heard. Today, I weave these threads together. With an MSc in Counselling and Positive Psychology and BACP accreditation, I combine a teacher's heart with clinical expertise. Whether I'm working with individuals in my private practice or supporting fellow practitioners through clinical supervision. I use a holistic, evidence-based framework, as well as integrating relationship theory, hypnotherapy, and NLP to facilitate lasting, positive change.
